Measurement Canada approached Consumers Council of Canada to provide its perspective on revising the legislative framework for trade measurement in Canada.
While several factors contribute to a more viable, efficient, modern legislative framework, the Council’s comments, contained in this document, focus mainly on the potential for Measurement Canada to concentrate on a broader, more comprehensive assessment of its potential to protect and promote consumer interests rather than simply focusing on addressing immediate policy priorities.
